Children’s Day Out (CDO) is now preparing for the 2024-25 school term.  As we look toward the next school year, we hope the following information will be helpful to you.

OPEN ENROLLMENT

Registration forms are due by Friday, March 8, for students that are not currently enrolled.  Processing will begin immediately and will continue until all placements are filled.  Please be advised that many classes fill quickly.  Please remain flexible so that the best placement can be made for each child.   Parents will be notified by phone the last week of March as to their placement.

Children’s Day Out is a Christian preschool sponsored by First Lutheran Church to serve the Topeka community.  Come and be a part of a preschool where children and childhood itself are celebrated!

Children’s Day Out strives to present a developmentally appropriate program for 2-5 year olds.  Creative Curriculum, by Teaching Strategies, provides the foundation for teachers to plan and present an active learning based curriculum.  The children have an opportunity to learn through exploring, experimenting, and using creative expression of ideas and feelings.  Parents can be confident that students attending CDO will have experienced growth in cognitive, physical, social/emotional, language and spiritual areas that will help them move successfully to the next level of development.  A more complete description of curriculum goals and objectives is available on our website at www.childrensdayout.net.  Parents can expect to receive ongoing information about their child’s progress throughout the school year, including parent/teacher conferences.

Children will be grouped according to age, taking into consideration date of birth, in order to make a good mixture in each class.  Parents’ first choice is a priority; however, parents are asked to remain flexible so that a good placement can be made for each child in the available classroom space.  

The Transition Class is specifically designed for children who have turned 5 and whose parents are intentionally choosing to give them another year of preschool to grow and develop before they begin the rigors of kindergarten.  Children enrolled in a transition class will have the opportunity for extended science, math, literacy, art and community involvement.  Particular attention is given to specific areas of need for each child.  

Extended Days:  The morning transition class has extended days.  It will meet Monday through Friday, on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 9:00-1:00 with children bringing a sack lunch and Monday and Friday from 9:00-11:30.  

Enrollment Fee:  There is an initial enrollment fee of $80.00 per student.  This fee helps with the costs of processing, insurance, and consumable supplies and also assures you that a space has been reserved for your child.  Your check for $80.00 will not be deposited until parents and director are satisfied with a position for your child.  Once an agreed upon placement is made, the enrollment fee is non-refundable.

September's tuition for the 2024-2025 school year is due by May 10.  The remaining months of CDO tuition will be due a month in advance.  October's tuition will be due by September 10, November’s tuition by October 10, etc.  Payments can be made by check or cash.  Please remember, cash payments should always be brought directly to the office.  Monthly tuition fees are listed in the chart on the back and on the registration form.

Withdrawal notice must be given before June 1, in order to receive a refund for September. 

After June 1, September's tuition is non-refundable.  This allows us to provide a secure placement for as many children as possible.

To Register Your Child in CDO Preschool:

1. Fill out the registration form in full, noting your first, second and third choices of  

        class times.       

     2. Enclose your $80.00 check for the enrollment fee.  Forms will not be processed without 

      the $80.00 fee. 

     3. Return forms and payment to school by mailing your registration with enclosed check to:

Scholarships are available for those students needing financial assistance.  Applications are available from the CDO office and must be submitted with the registration form.  Applications received later may not be eligible for consideration.

*All Classes have an initial enrollment fee of $80.00 per student due at enrollment and then 9 tuition payments.
